RE: May have missed a few things here
Glad you are feeling better. I had that stuff a couple of weeks ago, it was pretty rough!

It is good that you are better, allergies were giving me a lot of trouble, but I am feeling better right now.
Last Tuesday LottoSync predicted the winning bonus ball for the Mega Million, but not any of the main numbers, the main numbers was a 100 x 5 balls prediction and the bonus ball was a 100 x 1 bonus ball prediction, as I only buy 1 line per draw, I have LottoSync predict only enough numbers to make-up the 1 needed line and no more than that.
This is the second time that LottoSync 1.8 predicts a bonus ball right and using only 1 predicted number, but overall so far is not doing so hot, I get 1 number right out of 5 or 6 predicted main numbers often, but not always and on the last 2 weeks only 1 time 2 winning numbers on 5 main predicted numbers.
It did much better on past draws the few times that I checked the predictions on them.
Better than quick picks any way, much better.
The lottery results just now came out for tonight and LottoSync got 2 winning numbers out of 6 predicted ones for our pick 6 game here, but it does not pay anything for that game here, only 3 out of 6 or more pays, if it had been one of the other games.
If a very very fast computer could run a great number of predictions, maybe the prediction engine could be made to self adjust over time little by little based on the results of such predictions, or maybe you already have done something like this, after all version 1.8 is much better than quick (random) picks.

RE: May have missed a few things here
Fernando,

I'm thinking about releasing a free odds calculator or building it in the lottosync software itself...

I'll explain the reason for saying that...

Good forecasts are addictive... from the moment LottoSync fails a couple of times to deliver it feels like you need an urgent shot of winning numbers... lol... I know that feeling

The important thing for any lottery player and LottoSync user to remember is...

What are the true odds of what you are trying to do !

for example... the odds of matching at least 2 out of 5 with a single line for megamillions is once in 17.2 times.
this means that if you were just guessing you could very easily end up trying more than 51 times without ever hitting 2 numbers. That's the reality of the game I'm afraid.

Now... I'm very sure lottosync will do much much better than that and won't keep you waiting 51 times... lol, but you need to understand that for such heavy games like megamillions there will be moments when lottosync seems to go cold for a while... it's normal and can't be avoided... nomatter what you try.

For instance... last week i was running a 100 draws test on our systems for the Belgian lottery.

The normal odds for matching at least 3 from a pool of 10 for this game is... once in 7.4 times.
There was a section in the list where LottoSync failed 13 times in a row to predict at least 3 correct !
And still... seen over the total span of 100 draws LottoSync managed to predict at least 3 numbers correct once in 2.8 times.
That's 2.64 times better than the expected amount of hits ! (Wich is a very good average result on 100 draws tested.)
There was also a moment in the list where it hit 5 times in a row... lol

This just illustrates once more that odds are not like a clock ticking at the exact same rate everytime.

Regards,
Marco

RE: May have missed a few things here
btw: if you are looking for a good lotto odds calculator.

There is a free one available from Ion Saliu...

It's called Superformula... you can download it here

http://files.filefront.com/SuperFormulae...einfo.html

I like the "Win At Least" option in the program...

RE: May have missed a few things here
were there any times in that 100 draw test where lottosync precited 4,5 or even 6 winning numbers in that group of 10 using 100 samples??

Luckyhorse,

Haha... that's a question I was expecting...

Yes, there were several 4 hits and once 5 were predicted, but no 6 in this test...

SuperFormula.EXE yes and also ODDS.EXE

SuperFormula
Pick 6 with 54 Balls
2 Hits with 6 Balls (numbers):
1 in 8.8
--------
Odds calculator
Same as above = 1 in 7.87
About the same anyway.
------
I already had those programs, but had never used them before, very good stuff!
